Can you tame a panda in Minecraft?

There is no current way to tame a panda in Minecraft. You can, however, name them, feed them food, make them follow you, and breed them.

Pandas are arguably one of the cutest mobs in Minecraft with many different rare variations. But how can you get a panda as your best friend? You can feed pandas by right clicking them with bamboo or dropping it to them. This leads to a cute animation of them eating. You can also drop cake to pandas who will eat them.

Pandas, like any other mob in Minecraft, can be named using a name, meaning that even if you can’t tame a panda and make it your best friend forever, you can still make sure you never forget about it. Couple this with holding either cake or bamboo and your panda won’t want to leave your side any time soon.

Finally, pandas can be bred by feeding them bamboo. By feeding to pandas bamboo, both of them will enter “love mode” and if they are in range they will breed and create a baby panda! Pandas have two different genes and these genes decide what type of panda their baby will be (e.g. lazy/playfull…).
